Sales Consultant / Designer

Welcome clients in the showroom, guide them to the right products, and manage quotes and sales orders from first visit to installation follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and identify their needs.
  • Guide clients toward the specified products.
  • Present samples and advise clients.
  • Open a quote in Surfagest and complete it with the client.
  • Follow up on quotes and on installation requests.
  • Convert quotes into sales orders and collect client deposits.
  • Manage sales orders and follow their daily progress.
  • Contact clients when their materials arrive at the warehouse and request the remaining balance.
  • Print delivery or pickup slips and invoice orders marked "Shipped".
  • Contact the installer to check for any returns and put away materials after client meetings.

Requirements

  • Sales training or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the flooring industry (an asset).
  • Positive attitude and strong client-relationship skills.
  • Good communication in French; English an asset.

Installer

Full-time · Permanent Salaberry-de-Valleyfield Installation

Install flooring on residential and commercial projects, keep quality high and job sites clean, and (as team lead) plan the daily progress of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the installation equipment.
  • Keep your knowledge of installation types and materials up to date.
  • Confirm the right materials for the job site (team lead).
  • Contact the sales consultant or project manager about any anomalies (team lead).
  • Plan the progress of the work day by day and complete the daily report (team lead).
  • Notify the sales consultant of any additional material needs (team lead).
  • Confirm at the end of the job that the installation was done correctly (team lead).
  • Check the quality of the work at the end of each day and correct any anomalies quickly.
  • Keep the job site clean throughout the work.

Requirements

  • DEP as a tile setter or other relevant specialization, with knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Fluent French, written and spoken (required); English an asset.

Receive and inspect materials, prepare orders for delivery and pickup, and keep the warehouse organized, safe and running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the merchandise receiving process (documentation, labeling, coding and data entry).
  • Make sure the goods received are correct and in good condition.
  • Prepare orders for delivery and customer pickup.
  • Keep the traffic areas in the warehouse well organized.
  • Project a courteous, professional image to customers.
  • Work closely with everyone on the team.
  • Keep your work environment clean and tidy, and help keep the premises safe.
  • Welcome customers and installers and provide the equipment they need.
  • Take on any other task requested by your immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • Able to lift loads of up to 35 kg.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Versatility.

Delivery Driver

Deliver flooring materials to job sites and clients across the region, load and unload safely, and confirm each order with the customer.

Main tasks

  • Get the delivery route from the manager.
  • Make sure everything on the order form is loaded into the truck in the ideal unloading order.
  • Check the load for completeness.
  • Follow the planned route as much as possible and report any change to your supervisor.
  • Call the client to announce the delivery when the sales consultant requests it.
  • Unload the goods following standard safety rules.
  • Verify the accuracy of the unloaded items with the client when needed.

Requirements

  • Valid class 5 driver's licence.
  • Excellent command of French; English an asset.
  • Knowledge of the road network (an asset).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Sense of urgency and priority management, adaptability and excellent judgment.
  • Good driving record and good physical condition.

Sales Assistant

Preparing and laying tiles

  • Prepare and mark out the surfaces to be covered.
  • Follow the installation plans.
  • Lay and firmly secure the tiles.
  • Cut and fit tiles as needed.
  • Align and level the tiles.
  • Install aggregate-based materials.
  • Replace damaged tiles.

Applying adhesives and finishing

  • Mix and apply adhesive materials (mortar, cement, glue, etc.).
  • Apply grout between the tiles and remove the excess.
  • Mix, apply and polish compounds.
  • Lay mosaic tiles to create decorative patterns.
  • Follow workplace health and safety measures.
  • Perform any other related task.

Requirements

  • Carreleur-compagnon competency card (required).
  • Valid driver's licence (required).
  • Experience in commercial tiling (an asset).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Sense of urgency, adaptability and excellent judgment.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week.
